When you make chicken every week you need to think of some new flavor combinations or else you get some funny faces from your family members! I love using silan as the fruity sweetness of the dates pairs great with the nutty, sour and savory flavors of the za'atar.
Silan & Za'atar Roasted Chicken

Ingredients

8 chicken thighs (or legs), skin on

1/4 cup silan
-
2 tablespoons za'atar
-
Salt
-
1 teaspoon garlic slices

Olive oil
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Toss the chicken thigh with the silan, za'atar, garlic, some olive oil and salt. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or in a roasting pan.
Bake for about 35 minutes till the chicken is fully cooked and enjoy!
Recipe Note
Variations & Ideas
• Replace the silan with maple syrup and the za'atar with sheba spice.
• Add 1/2 cup dried apricots and 1/2 cup prunes to the chicken while baking.
