If you haven't tried our amaro yet, you are in for a lovely treat. It's between a red vermouth and a Barolo Chinato and full of an amazing blend of La Boite spices exclusively made for our distilling partners at Cardinal Spirits. After dinner, it has a lighter complex flavor. In a cocktail, it makes the best Manhattans (stay tuned recipe coming soon) and a surprisingly refreshing strawberry amaro spritz with charred strawberries! Let amaro be your drink for the summer - to start the party as well as close up another delicious dinner full of love and spices.
Trip off the tops and split them in half, making 2 wide and flat halves.
Line the strawberry halves onto a foil lined baking try and preheat the broiler with the oven rack closer to the flame.
Broil the tray of strawberries under the broiler until the strawberries are caramelized.
Remove the tray from the broiler and transfer the fruit to a blender, using a silicon spatula to scrape in all of the juices – don’t waste any of the precious flavor.
Add the sugar, blend until smooth, and strain the puree through a fine sieve to remove the seeds. If the puree is very thick, you can add a little lemon juice to thin it out and strain it easier.
Refrigerate the puree to chill completely.
For the Cocktail
For each cocktail, fill a tall glass with ice and add the amaro, charred strawberry puree, and lemon juice to combine well.
Top with chilled soda water and garnish with strawberry, lemon slices, and plenty of aromatic mint.

Recipe Notes
This recipe could be really great with various fruit purees like blueberry or peach but the amaro has so much flavor on its own you could keep making amaro sprtizs with lemon if the strawberry runs out and still keep the party going. The La Boite American Amaro is verrrry, easy to drink so make sure you have enough! You can find our amaro online at Warehouse Wines & Spirits or contact us for information on where you can find it local to you.
